Female comedy actress Melissa McCarthy is going to be the leading lady in the upcoming action comedy Super-Intelligence.
The actress who is known for her comedy roles will be pairing up once again with her director husband Ben Falcone for the new movie. The couple teamed up when Falcone played undercover air marshal agent Jon in Bridesmaids. He has also directed his wife in the comedies Tammy, The Boss and the upcoming film Life of the Party which is due out May 2018.
Production of the newest Melissa McCarthy film Super-Intelligence is due to begin in July. McCarthy will play Carol Peters in the new film. Carol is a former corporate executive whose earnest yet unfulfilled life is turned upside down when she is is selected for observation by the world’s first super-intelligence – an artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world.
McCarthy is one of Hollywood’s well deserved highest paid actresses, her role as Megan in the 2011 romantic comedy Bridesmaids got everyone laughing and wanting more from the actress.
Identity Thief, Spy, and The Heat were McCarthy’s biggest box office hits and the lady proved to fans that she had what it takes when the all-female Ghostbusters movie came out in 2016.
The actress also has two drama’s on the way, Andrea Berloff’s Irish mob story The Kitchen and Marielle Heller’s biopic of famed forger Lee Israel, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
