The clown nobody wants to meet it coming back again. Pennywise the evil clown will be back in IT: Chapter 2 as filming for the film is due to begin this July.
Last years film IT was a big success for Warner Brothers and there are hopes that the upcoming sequel to Andres Muschietti’s 2017 film is going to just as well.
Based on the 1986 Stephen King novel of the same name and somewhat of a reboot of the 1990 TV miniseries starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the clown. The 2017 reboot of the film tells the story of seven children living in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized by Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
Pennywise is a malevolent entity who preys upon the children of Derry, Maine roughly every 27 years, using a variety of powers that include the ability to shapeshift, manipulate and go unnoticed by adults, appearing to the children in the form of Pennywise.
Last years IT movie was a runaway critical and commercial success and because of how it ended it was pretty much guaranteed that there would, in fact, be a sequel.
Chapter 2 is rumored to be picking up with the members of the Losers’ Club as adults 27 years after their first battle with Pennywise the Dancing Clown aka. IT.
This is of course how the 1990 miniseries played out, it started with the childrens first meeting of the clown and the having to pretty much relieve their nightmare childhood again when the evil clown returns when they are adults as they are all brought together once more, ready to face their fears and ultimately defeat the malevolent entity.
The current release date for IT: Chapter 2 is September 6, 2019. We will keep you posted with any updates we hear about the film.
