If, like us, you aren’t all that familiar with the character of Captain Marvel then don’t fear the first trailer tells us most of what we need to know.

Avengers: Infinity War pt:1 Spoiler ahead.

In the post credit scene of Infinity War, we see Agent Maria Hill and Nick Fury turn to dust. Before Fury dies he activates an emergency beacon that features an unfamiliar logo, that logo it turned out was that of Captain Marvel.

Back once again

In the first trailer we get some history on the character, we learn that she’s from outer space although was originally from Earth. She crash-landed on Earth and was discovered by a young Nick Fury. We see her joining the US Air Force and we get glimpses of her in a similar role in space for Starforce. There are hints towards her powers as well, which look immense, although we don’t see them fully in action.

You can see the Trailer below.

Captain Marvel will give us a backstory for the character which, we presume, will become Earths saviour after the harrowing events of Avengers: Infinity War.

Reach for the stars

The film will star Brie Larson (Kong: Skull Island, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World) as Captain Marvel, Samuel L Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Snakes on a Plane) as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, 500 Days of Summer) as Agent Coulson, Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One, Ready Player One) as Talos, Jude Law (The Young Pope, The Grand Budapest Hotel) as Mar-Vell and Gemma Chan (Humans, Crazy Rich Asians) as Minn-Erva.

Little is known at this stage with regards to the plot although it would seem that Talos will likely be the villain leading an invasion force to Earth. The setting for the film will be the mid-1990s.

By the looks of the trailer, this is going to be a great build up to the next Avengers movie and we can’t wait to see how it turns out. The final shot of her glowing with power makes us think this is going to something epic, let’s hope it isn’t a letdown.

Captain Marvel is released on the 08th March 2019
